August 2011: Newsletter and Christmas Appeal

We are about to start work on our latest newsletter which should be available by the end of September. Along with this Newsletter we will be sending out our annual Alternative Christmas Gift Scheme for 2011. Sorry to mention Christmas so early when the "summer" holidays are just ending and the children are getting back to school but the Christmas cards are already in the shops!

Wondering what to buy your friends and family yet again this year? Perhaps you would like to use our Christmas Alternative Gift Scheme! Thank you to our many supporters who have used this scheme inpast years and we trust that you will do so again this year. If you have never taken advantage of our scheme, perhaps you would like to give it a try this year? Yes, the recession is still biting and finances are tight, but we are still so much better off than many people in the Third World. Ugandans have been seriously affected by a number of factors this year - for example, higher fuel costs which bump up the price of everything, especially food. The famine in East Africa has obviously meant a shortage of food and has also resulted in increased prices, so there is much need which we could help alleviate. A range of gifts will be provided for you to choose from and by buying something for a friend or family member you will really help to make a difference. Please give it a try this year, even if you can only afford a small gift.
