Fundraising

Here are a few ways you can Donate
and help us support more children.

Due to the nature of our charity, there is an on-going need for finances, especially in relation to supporting orphaned and under-privileged children. We hold regular fundraising activities throughout the year including such things as flag days, supermarket bag-packing, coffee mornings, dinners, craft evenings, fireside quizzes, car boot sales, concerts, charity breakfasts, sponsored events etc. If you live in the Coleraine area you could be involved in any of these activities and we are always looking for volunteers to help. If interested, please contact us to find out about the next fund-raising activity.

However, you don’t need to live in the Coleraine area to become involved! There are many ways in which YOU TOO could help by way of fundraising. You could run a fund-raising event wherever you are! Just get in touch with us, give us the details of the proposed event and we can furnish you with all the necessary paperwork and documentation. So why not use your imagination to think up a good fundraising event and go for it on behalf of the orphans and under-privileged children of Uganda?

Other practical ways of contributing to the work of the Trust also appear here.  In the future, we hope to add some exciting new features which will give you more and easier ways of supporting the work we do in Uganda.

How to make a donation to Rock Ministries’ work

Rock Ministries (NI) Trust is a voluntary organisation and we depend on the generous giving of our supporters and sponsors. If you feel that the Lord is leading you to support us financially, we would be so pleased to receive your donation. Remember, donations however small, can make a big difference to the lives of the under-privileged in Uganda.

There are a number of ways in which your donation can be made as noted below:

Donating by Cheque or Postal Order

If you would like to make a donation by Cheque or Postal Order, please make it payable to Rock Ministries (please remember to cross your cheque) and send it to:

Donating by Standing Order

If you would like to support Rock Ministries (N.I) Trust through regular payments, the following Standing Order Mandate Form may be used for this purpose. Please print, complete and return to Rock Ministries at the address quoted above.

If you require help when completing the form, do not hesitate to contact us on 02870344319

Donating by Credit Card

We prefer that you do this through JustGiving.com, as it lessens our administration overheads.

Donating by Cash

Please Note: We do not recommend that you send cash through the post. However, if this is the only method you can use, please take measures to ensure that the money cannot be lost or stolen. Registered post may be one option for you. Please enquire at your local Post Office.

Gift Aid

You can maximise your giving by using Gift Aid whereby the UK Government will return 28p to us for every £1 you donate. You need to be a UK tax payer to use this system and you also need to have paid an amount of tax equal to, or greater than, the amount donated. If you would like to support us in this way by maximising your giving, please print off our Gift Aid Declaration Form and return it to us once you have completed it in full.

If you would like to support us in this way, please print off our Gift Aid declaration form, complete and return it with your donation.

Batiks, Crafts and Cards

We have some unique Ugandan art and craft work for sale – so, if you are looking for that special but different gift, please contact us.

Choose from a variety of batiks, mostly measuring approximately 46cm by 74 cm which depict typical African scenes and culture – themes such as music, hunting, animals, homes etc. We have a variety of Uganda made crafts such as wooden spoons, handbags, necklaces, bracelets, trays etc for sale. We can also provide blank greetings cards depicting typical Ugandan/African scenes on the front. These can be personalised, if required.

Recycle your phone, Save the Planet, Help the Trust

You can now help to care for your environment and raise money for Rock Ministries (NI) Trust at the same time! We have recently joined forces with Recycle4Charity, a fund-raising tool for charities.

As a charitable organisation, we would encourage everyone to recycle and now we have a personal reason for encouraging our friends and supporters to recycle as they can help raise money for our work in Africa! Each year thousands of printer cartridges and mobile phones are used and disposed of instead of being offered for recycling.

Recycle4Charity is an organisation which is prepared to recycle these ink cartridges and mobile phones and will contribute to our charity for each item received. They are prepared to offer up to £1 for every ink jet cartridge received and up to £30 for every mobile phone. The best thing about this scheme is that it costs you nothing! You simply put the cartridge or phone in a freepost envelope and post it. So when those cartridges are finished, don’t throw them in the bin – put them in a Recycle4Charity envelope and post them. The same applies to those old mobile phones – don’t just stuff them in a drawer but rather put them in the envelope and post them too. We can supply you with the envelopes which have our charity details on it so that they know where to allocate the money. Please get in touch if you would like some envelopes. (We do intend to enclose one with our next newsletter.) When you post the envelope there is a section for you to complete to request more envelopes. You can use your own envelope, making sure that you quote ‘Rock Ministries (NI) Trust C2848’. This organisation also supplies collection boxes for use in large organisations, schools, offices etc so why not ask if they would be willing to allow a collection box to be used?
