Saintfield Charity pleasure ride

For the second year running a successful Charity Pleasure Ride was organised by Joan Cunningham from her stables at Lisburn Road, Saintfield to raise money for our charity. A very encouraging number of around 100 horses and riders turned out, all dressed as Santa, much to the delight of the shoppers in Saintfield that afternoon. Of course, the real Santa also made an appearance in a horse-drawn carriage. The weather was very kind and a welcome lunch was served afterwards and prizes awarded for the best-turned-out Santas.

An auction was also held and all proceeds from this very successful event will go to develop projects where agricultural/horticultural skills may be taught. Eventually it is hoped that schools, vocational training units and a clinic can also be established for the orphans and others under the care of our partners. Many thanks to Joan and her gang, yet again, for this wonderful effort and for their compassion for those in need in Uganda. Also thanks to all who participated on the day and contributed to the success of the event.
