Rock Ministries (NI) Trust is very aware of the importance of education, both academic and vocational, and of how this can help to secure a future for any child (and ultimately for the entire family). However, in Uganda and Rwanda, education is not always easy to access, especially for poor families.

One of our main objectives is to provide education for needy and under-privileged children and so we have been running a sponsorship programme for many years. Currently we have sponsors for over 300 children, and a few teachers, but there are always so many more who would love the opportunity to go to school.

When we find sponsors to allow any child to go to school, we also aim to help the family so that they can support the child and encourage him/her to attend school and make the most of the opportunity provided. Consequently, we have 2 child sponsorship programmes:

• Sponsorship for Education
       Primary School @ £15 per month
       Secondary or Vocational School @ £25 per month
• Sponsorship for Living at Home Expenses
       £20 per month to provide food, clothing, medical supplies, etc.

Unfortunately there is no guarantee that any particular child listed below will still be available. However, we can assure you that there are many other needy children also anxiously waiting for a kind sponsor to offer support.

Good teachers are obviously an important aspect of education in any school. Those of our partners who run their own school endeavour to employ teachers who have good qualifications and obvious sympathy for the work being carried out. Although teachers are not paid well in general, we encourage our partners to pay fair wages. To help with this, we are also looking for people to sponsor a teacher at £100 per month.
